Attis,

I have two questions about the new Powers Sourcebook.

- Is there gonna be something like Ka manipulation within its pages?

- In the book description its mentioned "play with point built characters and a modular power system...". Whats a modular power system?

Thanks in advance,

Andre

Hello Andre,

Ka Manipulation will be in the book and so will a new power called Sorcery. Both will allow the character to manipulate and twist the fundamental attributes of the Universe.

Since the Powers book will focus on not only GODSEND Agenda there are quite a few on non-genre specific powers in the book. If the Gm doesn’t want to run GODSEND Agenda and just wants to do a generic D6 supers game then he can with the powers in the book. The Powers book is not completely tied to the concept of Ka.

and the modular system?

assuming of course that we are using modular as a correct term, would that be more like D&D?... roll for stats, get skills based on what group or thing you are playing?

or would it be more like LUG (last unicorn games) version of star trek, where you have overlays for race (your skills, abilities and stats base scores) your job overlay (extra skills and possibly bonuses to stats) and then extra stuff like previous mission experience?

just curious

There are different thing you can put in or take out according to your [personal taste. Since it isn’t a genre specific book there are things such as magic (which doesn’t exist in GODSEND Agenda) that can be added to the game.
Ka point are optional in the Powers book so that derived attribute doesn’t need exist in your particular game world.

Call it what you like, it is what it is. Im not sure what Id call it if it can be taken in parts and used as a whole or in pieces.

Does that mean that Ka Manipulation will differ from that presented in the main rule book, and that you can do pretty much whatever you want instead of using the powers listed in the book?

If so that would be pretty cool!

On a seperate note, when is 'Godsend Agenda: Mythos' due for release if it hasn't been already?

i think he'll just take Ka Manipulation out (the title) and put the title Sorcery in its place..

as is whats stereotypically what sorcery is.

now to have it do specific things like spells?...

perhaps limitations that you can only do a specific amount of "spells" (powers)

course, i could be wrong..lmao

he does imply both will be in the book and usable

in my mind all sorcerous powers are, is someone who took ka manip and put some sorcerous limits on it

It is the same as it is in the GODSEND Agenda book except that it allows you to manipulate or dampen Ka energy. All the manipulation powers have been tweaked to make them more versatile. Ka Manipulation will still allow the character to use every power in the book.

Indeed it would… :p

On a separate note, when is 'Godsend Agenda: Mythos' due for release if it hasn't been already? We had a small amount for sale at Gen Con this year. The book should be on shelves by the end of the month (October)

That’s the way I’ve always seen it, sadly a lot of people don’t. If the word magic or Sorcery isn’t in front of the word it isn’t magic to them. I’ve explained countless times to those who have asked that they could make a mage using the one power but they persisted that they wanted a power called sorcery. I’ve tried to make them happy with the addition of the Magic Blast, magic Field, and Sorcery power in the POWERS book. Magic doesn’t exist in the GODSEND Agenda universe but I added the powers for those who wish to run a non-canon or traditional 4-colored game.
Sorcery does almost everything that Ka Manipulation can except there is a price to failure when a botch is rolled.
