without using molecular mimic?

i cant recall seeing metal as an option in elemental sheath

and got to wondering about a "mineral" version of it

Simple, transparent, and fades into the background. Leaves it open for roleplaying without a lot of powers getting in the way. Plus Colossus isn’t a very complicated character to make. He’s resilient and strong and has the artistry skill.

however im making 6 characters for a con coming up in october, they are going to be PL4, and the story is going to center around the final days leading up to the chimerean invasion

phew... man when i find out, i'll let ya know..lol

as is, im planning on having the PC's play semi important super heroes (not named in the book of course, but still)

i dont really want to go the route of "Hitchhikers guide" and have the planet go kaboom... thats just overdone... and i dont really want to go the route of war of the worlds where they just show up and start obliterated everything.... i think..hmm


well ok i may do that, but have a bit of narative at the beginning about who the aliens are thought to be (from a human stand point... i may have 1 black gene in the group who knows).. then kind of have it where the chimereans have been building up a power base.... i really wasnt happy with the idea that the chimereans appear to be hive minded on their world, apear to be so here, but dont appear to be very well connected on earth... yes, i know they use ka to communicate, but it seems to me that they might have come up with a way around that flaw... given all the years they've been on earth..

im slowly formulating the plan..lol

but the concept i have so far is that yes, they've been communicating, they have been building up power, they have infiltrated several of earths top officials (x files anyone?), they are here, now. but as the atlanteans predicted, there will be an invasion, there will be more, but these chimereans arent coming from their home world, they are the ones that were "lost"...

i cant recall exact circumstances from the book, but the chimereans that left the planet many many years ago and supposedly lost contact.

anyone remember that?... or am i just going nuts and placing the wrong group?

anyways, the idea as that those "lost" ones needed some other atmosphere to breed a stronger warrior, and so they've been doing just that, they've branched out and have inhabited a few of our planets, most notably jupiter, saturn mars and venus... each planet producing a specific breed of chimereans.

ok, so a player tonight decided to spend some of his CP's and rework his Entropy blast... and man did he rework it..lol

on a passing suggestion about two powers, he added Drain, and Enhancement to his entropy blast

i dont recall the exact build (his sheet is out in the car)

but basically he chose linked, obviously.. i came up with a miscellaneous enhancement for Drain which functions similiar to one thats already there, basically he can use the drain to pump his levels in enhancement.. so that it effectively raises the ranks he has on his enhancement roll (on top of the normal uses of drain)

does this sound feasible, or was i drinking too much dr pepper when i suggested it?

1st off let me commend you on your choice of soft drinks, if you had written that you were drinking Mr. Pibb I would have stricken this post from the board.:)

The power your player built is whacky but entirely plausible as far as the mechanics of the game. The enhancement seems perfectly reasonable. If I understand the power correctly

What was his character concept?

Sounds good but a bit complex.

Why an Entropy blast and not an Energy, Sonic, or Force blast?

Why not just have the drain power with the miscellaneous enhancement that allows him to put the stolen points into his existing powers (which you have already done) and give the Drain power the Range enhancement? The player is obviously Linking the powers for the point cost reduction (I commend him for this, if you are gonna milk the system pull the teats off the cow ;) ) but it seems like it overly complicated.

The way the rules are written I do not see anything mechanically wrong with what you have done. I think the Dr. Pepper has guided you properly and that’s what doctors are for.

it was basically my idea to link drain and enhancement, i thought it'd be a neat idea... it was totally him on adding it to his entropy blast..lol

he really likes the idea of the entropy power... course... he hates it when he flubs the attack roll with a complication, since i usually make it feedback to him... since it is a pretty chaotic thing... sort of like backlash rules for magic the ascension... sort of.

he was trying everything he could for the point redux

basically it looks like

tentropy blast rank 4 (drain power at 3 ranks - ranged limitations physical gestures, short circuit...)

Nope , its in the book. It warms my little heart when those little seeds are used.

I like the sound of it. Kinda like Sentai version of Chimerans. The concept sounds really neat. I have no doubt that you will execute this well. I'm just sad I wont be able to make it to the convention to play in it :(

well, i think you are thinking of Roland..lol

the walking dude, was RF (Randall Flag) he was the wizard old dude that was following Roland in the first book

he also tends to crop up in other books (like the stand)

the powers that Scott gave him are as follows

1 rank of Super Physique (meh, who knows)
Regeneration 3 ranks
Immortality (if hes ever eaten, he dies.. man who thinks this stuff up..lol)
Drain 2 ranks (enhancement he gets abilitys and limitations, he also has ranged, and limited use on this one)

i walked them both through the extended powers stuff tonight, which is why they went batty over them..lol

well, it'd be awesome if you could show up..lol, we got some support from white wolf the last time i ran some games... but it was basically some toss away copies of books they didnt want anymore.... they never sent anyone though... id rather have someone from the company show up than swag (although swag rocks too..lol)

hmm... maybe i can get something worked up with you guys, like a copy of the rule book or something
