Yes, playing around with the board settings. Theoretically I can change all the colors too on a per-board basis, but getting them to not look like ass is a bit harder. I might post a copy of the CSS stylesheet and let people mess with it.
If you do decide to change the color scheme here, I think we'd all love if it was in the same style as our front page for NA!P (the page you took the logo from). You know, 70's wood panelling and shag carpet background. You know, if that's possible.

Solid colors are easier. Not sure how it handles tiling page backgrounds. Theoretically possible, though.

Added shag and tweaked a few colors. Far from optimal. Give me feedback and I can try to tweak some more. hardest to do would be changing the blue buttons to something else, but table backgrounds, fonts, etc. are all easy changes.
Looks good, but the NA!P header looks slightly chipped around the edges now that the shag is in place. But never fear! I made a new one, custom tailored to the exact same size/parameters! It even has the same name! Just click here (http://www.noapologiespress.com/zer0comics/nap_logo.gif) to get it. I think it'll work out much better agains the shag than the old one!
Can you, theoretically, use a .GIF for the table backgrounds? 'Cause in that case I could probably fix up some snazzy wood panelling for you to use! If it isn't possible, lemme know!

It's all CSS so theoretically everything can have a tiled image for a background. Go for it.
OK, I'll give it a shot and see what I can cook up.
What size does the tiled background have to be? In pixels, I mean?

I don't see any limitations in the code here. I'd say no larger than the shag rug image and probably a bit smaller than that. We'll have to experiment.

OK, here's my first idea for a new NA!P forum design. LINK (http://www.noapologiespress.com/zer0comics/forumidea.gif) I think it'd be cool if the posted messages had this format, kinda in keeping with our front page. Also, they'd fit in w/ the shag. However, I don't know if this would actually be doable or not. Aeon, what do you think? And the rest of you (Brent/Ken/Jeff) how does this look to you?
Lemme know if this could work out and I'll fix the textures. This idea just uses 3 textures, two wood (one top and one bottom) and one red felt. But I'd prolly have to redesign all the buttons, too. Like I redesigned the "QUOTE" button (see pic).
Like I said, let me know.

I'd like to see more of Mr. Sausagedog -- maybe a brighter shade for the wood panelling, but I am picky...
could we do that for Ninja Burger?

Hm. Doesn't look possible as you designed. First problem is that the top part, which you have as one element, is actually two elements. The top "blue" bar for each table, and then the lighter blue box that has info about the poster.
Second main issue is that there's nowhere for that bottom band of "wood"; the buttons off to the right of each table cell are just within the same cell as the text as a different div. I'm not sure this supports adding a background image there. But we can try that.
But the first one won't work without serious rejiggering. I'd say leave the user band and recolor it and just go for woodgrain in the top part. I'll try that now if I can.
This looks great! I love it the way it is now! I love what you've done with the buttons, too, so that they are brown instead of blue. Looks real nice. Just for fun, though, let's try adding a tiled red felt background to the main message table cell and see how it looks. I have one prepared for tiling here (http://www.noapologiespress.com/zer0comics/felt.gif). If tiling it doesn't work, then just forget about it.
Also: the second (formerly light blue) bar from the top! Does it support tiled textures? 'Cause if it does, I have one prepared here (http://www.noapologiespress.com/zer0comics/woodtop.gif) that looks to be the exact format required. At least I *think* so, I don't know. The text'd have to be white there as well, in order to be visible. If it doesn't support tiled backgrounds, just skip this bit.
Let's see how it looks now. If the guys and me don't like it, just go back to the current settings and we'lll call it a day.

Adjusted. Link color is kind of dark on some backgrounds.
Hmm, nah. It looks bad when you try to post a new message and scroll down to see the old ones. A giant wooden bar is in the middle of each old message, thereby hindering you from reading it. Also, the link color and font color in the formerly-light-blue-bar is a problem. Hinders visibility. The smileys don't look good either. They're kinda chipped around the edges.
I think the color scheme before this one was better. You know, the one with just one wooden bar at the top (where the dark blue bar was), and the rest in a sort of brownish-beige color scheme. Better restore that one instead. Then we'll call it quits! :) Thanks for all your help!

Sorry if you two have discussed this already, but... the wood paneling with text on it is hard to read. There. Done. Did it. Crucify me now. I will die for all humanity's sin. That'll show you.
