Or at least a moderately dysfunctional one, depending on how messed up your individual familes are. I probably qualify for that second christmas greeting myself. Yessiree, time once again to head on over to meet the ol' family, eat some ham (which is what we have in Sweden instead of turkey - useless Swedish fact #324) and generally build up a healthy resentment towards your folks until same time next year. But hey, at least you get presents, right? Right?

I'll be back in a few days or so, probably several pounds heavier from all the fatty Swedish christmas food. Hope you all have a nice christmas! Take it easy!

I thought all Swedish food was fatty.

Merry Christmas to all you wankers, too.

Of course it is. We need to build up our fat reserves in the winter so we can fight off the polar bears. I think. And also the walrusses.

Speaking of which: I ate so much ham this christmas I think I'm likely to start squealing like a pig. SQUEUEUEUEUEUEUEUEEEEEEEEE!

Next xmas shall most definetely be spent abroad by the ladyfriend and me. Only not in Thailand like we originally planned.

Hey all -- I've been offline due to a nonexistent Internet connection. So, uh... happy post Xmas! Happy pre New Year!

My family always does ham for Christmas :)

We skipped the ham this year. You tend to overeat those things
every year. We went for a sweet and very sour feast of
pickled herring instead. And of course we "skjöljer ner den" with an abundance
of the finest schnaps! Add loads of beer, mulled wine, and loads of fatty rice pudding with milk and cream (and butter), and you got the lovliest christmas ever!

I guess we need much booze and fat to build up a healthy reserve which we need to survive the arctic cold!

I'm sorry, did you just say milk AND cream AND butter?

Now I know where the Wisconsonites and Minnesotans get it from--Swedish immigrants.

Ah, Swedish christmas food! I'd say that sounds an awful lot like "Risgrynspudding", the food a bulimics nightmares are made of. And "sköljer ned den" would of course be "wash it down". With booze. Lots of booze. A very Swedish christmas indeed. No wonder we tend to look like the exhibits displayed on Fat Chicks in Party Hats (http://www.fatchicksinpartyhats.com/) up north after the holidays are done. !!!GO SWEDEN!!!

I never thought another Swede would find his way to these forums, by the way! Guess someone in Sweden must actually be reading my stuff. Yay!

We always have ham too. I thought ham was the normal thing. I think the only people who ever ate turkey for Christmas was that family with the crippled kid.

Yeah.. It is risgrynspudding, served with a healthy dose of cloudberry or strawberry jam. my grandma use to add lot's of blanched almonds along with the milk, butter and double cream - making it even more fattier! Have you ever tried it with lutfisk? My other grandma used to serve it like that.. it's horrible..
damn i've gained many pounds this year. We totaly look like those party hat fatties.. NO EXAGERATION.

Haha. Are you really that surprised? there's a lots of swedish people on the net..

Yeah, I guess. It's just that I never expected any of them to actually be cool enough to find NA!P. Or whatever. Actually, the only interaction with fellow Swedes I've had since I started work for NA!P has been through an almost endless barrage of hatemail I've recieved over that comic on Swedish rap and the shittiness thereof. That thing generated even more hatemail than my comic about Gord and Maddox did. Says a lot about what us Swedes think is important, I guess.

Lutfisk och gröt/tårta så söt. Eller var det risgrynspudding så söt? Damn, next year I gotta spend christmas somewhere where I won't gain 50 kilos over the course of a few days. Originally, me and the lady friend had planned to go to Thailand this year. Boy are we glad we didn't!

Welcome to the forum, BTW. Glad to have another Swede on board. Hey, this means we can secretly insult Brent, Ken and Jeff behind their backs! In Swedish! Ha ha ha, they'll never know what it is we're saying! MUA HA HA HA HA HA!

Jeff

No you can't! I read Swedish! Here's my translation of "Lutfisk och gröt/tårta så söt. Eller var det risgrynspudding så söt?":

Lutfish is great/big tatas are too. Brent is a god.

Jeff

Close, Brent. It actually ends 'Brent is a god of rigormortis pudding.'

Thank you very very much! I'll guess I am really cool to get into NA!P! Wow!
it's a funny site, very weird in some places but wow!

I'm really really glad you didn't went to Thailand. You're too lucky man.. besides, Thailand too wasted by turists. Go to Mexico or Australia or something! Australia is too beautiful!

You think NA!P is only "very" weird? Dude, try reading Future Retard (http://www.noapologiespress.com/futureretard/index.html)! Like, whoa!

Yeah, I'm glad we didn't go to Thailand, too. Australia does sound nice. We actually have an Aussie-lassie somewhere here on the forums. Her name is Nicole, but she flew to Canada and then to Racoon City and Silent Hill and then zombies ate her and since then we haven't seen her. Or something. Yeah.
