Without aggrandizing myself in any way whatsoever; I can safely say this is the single best comic I've ever made in my entire life.
Except for that one about sausagedogs, of course. I'll never be able to top that one.

Man, all this double negativity reminds me; what do you think would happen if a Mongolian became mongoloid? Me and my girlfriend argued about this earlier and arrived at the conclusion that the universe would probably collapse in on itself and be destroyed.

Hi, I just found your comic via the MaddoxMania forum and I thought it was hilarious - hopefully most of the people who hang around on MM will agree. Who's Gord anyway?
Hi there! Great to hear from a reader; especially one who actually likes my comic! :)
Gord is, or rather was, the owner of a video game store somewhere (I'm not exactly sure where) in Canada. He later moved to Korea. Gord is the owner and founder of the web site Actsofgord.com (http://www.actsofgord.com/); a site where he aggrandizes himself almost as much as does Maddox on his page. He also brags about insulting and, sometimes, beating up his customers.
Now, I mostly have no problems with the first one (insulting someone), but bragging about and glorifying beating up people really gets to me. Especially if the person you beat up is smaller than you. All this being the reasons I included him in the comic along with Maddox.

You're actually quite pathetic. Spending weeks working hard simply to try and spite someone you don't even know? Pretty lame, buddy. Go ahead and let Maddox or whoever he is think what he wants, what the hell do you care? Don't you have your own life to live? If you hate his site so much, might I suggest that you AVOID it? No one put a gun to your head and forced you to read it.
No, I'm not a Maddox "fan" (and don't even know who the hell "Gord" is)...the guy's obviously got serious issues and is a snarky little twirp who likes to pretend he's a pirate, which is generally no different than 5 year-olds playing Cowboys & Indians. But good lord, man...he's got so much power over you that it actually drove you to spend ridiculous amounts of time whipping up a way to try and make him look stupid. Actually, it wound up making you appear as if you've got nothing better to do, and gave him more publicity than even the National Enquirer could. If you're expecting him to grab his teddy bear and sit in the corner of his room rocking back and forth, I'd not hold your breath; he's probably laughing his ass off at the fact that you found him worthy and interesting enough to devote all that time to him. People like him don't run and cry when they're flamed...they LAUGH. They get off on it. Aren't you the least bit familiar with his type? You will never, ever win this one. So find something else to pass the time. Go colour or play in your sandbox or hoard Playboy magazines in your room like so many other little boys do.
Oh, and as for the rendering of the comics, themselves...don't quit your day job, dude.

Why, thank you! :) I find this especially noticeable in how I attempt to make a solid argument while you resort to attacking me personally using vulgar insults.

Again, you make no real case against my argument. You do not, either, make any counter-arguments to it at all. Instead you just resort to blatant insults against me as a person because I dared to speak out against the person who - based upon the opinion clearly discernable in your writing - is obviously your idol. Every time you resort to vulgar insults and to attacking ME instead of my opinions, you clearly show your true self and your true opinion of Maddox. You like him. And you hate me for daring to express an opinion contrary to your own. You also prove what I am saying, both in my comics and the appenixes, right.
But insulting me doesn’t work. I’m not insulted. At all. The only thing you have done is make a fool out of yourself by calling me names and showing yourself as incapable of logical argumentation as Maddox does on his web page. You haven’t responded to or made any attempts what so ever at disproving anything I’ve said, so far. Instead, all you’ve done is the Internet equivalent of yelling “You’re stupid!” at the top of your voice. Way to go; that’ll sure teach me how “wrong” I am.
Based on the parts of yourself which you have shown so far, I would daresay you like Maddox because his opinion is just as hateful and shallow as yours is. I would also guess that you like him because his opinions does not require any kind of analysis, unlike my comic and the opinions expressed therein.

Even though you have flamed me, I STILL won’t resort to vulgar insults and to flaming you, since this is part of the beef I have with Maddox writing. Why would I want to insult you? What, would that prove me “right” or something? In that case; how?
If you wish to prove what I am saying in my comic is incorrect; you’ll need to make a point against what I am saying. Why am I incorrect? What opinion expressed in my comic is it that is wrong? Just trying to prove someone wrong by screaming “you’re stupid” doesn’t work.

Your opinion, as I stated above, does appear to precisely match that of Maddox. At least, the opinion he shows to the public on his web page. You have no apparent ability to make a logical argument, no ability to logically prove why I am wrong and no means of defending yourself against the arguments I make other than typing insults back at me. This is exactly in keeping with the argument I make in the comic about how Maddox himself is, and how some readers “worship every shallow, hateful piece of bitterness” he produces. He never elaborates and you never have to read long pieces of text to understand why he’s “right”. Instead you only get a short, concise message of hate, not unlike the insults you are throwing at me right now. Based upon these observations, I would say your opinion is no different from the countless other fans of Maddox who were also angered by my comic without even having the patience to finish reading it. Just like you.

Actually, your OPINION is all you have expressed this far. You haven’t proven me wrong, haven’t managed to insult me and haven’t managed to hurt me by insulting my artwork either. I draw very well, better than most people I know. And that’s not exaggerating or aggrandizing myself in the least, it’s just a fact. WHY does my artwork suck? Provide an argument. Other than “because I say so”, which is the only one you’ve given me thus far. “Opinions are like assholes”, I believe there’s an American saying that goes; “everybody has one”. Besides, unless YOU really “are a nut case” (or a fanatically loyal fan of Maddox, which is what I'm betting on), why should YOU care about anything I’VE said on my web page? I’m just words on a computer screen, remember? To quote yourself directly: “No one put a gun to your head and forced you to read it.” You’re just proving how much you love Maddox and share his shallow, hate-filled opinion with every thing you say. Why would I want to keep your opinion, and you, away from the forum? It’s not like you’re providing any solid argument against me or even threathening anything I've said. Actually, the only “benefit of a doubt” you have managed to conjure up is the one I now have of your ability to reason properly. You haven’t managed to convince me in the least that A) Any opinion expressed in my comic is wrong, B) That you aren’t a fanatical follower of Maddox, sharing his shallow hate-filled view on life and arguing, or C) That you can properly conduct an argument without resorting to vulgar name-calling. But I’m sure you’ll manage to prove me wrong in your next step, which – if I’m guessing correctly – should be either to just post a message saying "fuck you" or to spam the forum with angry, vulgar messages about how much "zer0 sucks" and how he "is a fag". This is precisely why I added the appendixes and their message of “please don’t send me any hate mail until you’ve read this”. Unlike Maddox, I want my readers to form an intelligent opinion before they start arguing; otherwise they just make a fool of themselves. Just like you.
I do respect your opinion, even though I personally think it's 100% incorrect, though! :)

You can argue all you want regarding our Swedish fellow's opinion and conclusions and even his motivations (although arguing about someone's motivations is a bit of blah-blah-blah -- as if it matters what motivates anyone on the Web to do anything and everything or nothing)...
...but it's clear that the work itself, the presentation and layout, is sweet as sweet-ass (that's a good thing, lard butt!).
By default, zer0 is the winner.

I agree with the criticism offered of the Maddox failure of reason in the article. I also note that the graphic art skills used are very cool with their intentional jagged edge qualities.
The net being using the handle "Meh" did raise a point which was not directly responded to by Zer0 (although Brent later made a counter-point which addressed this dismissively).
This criticism is that this work of art overall serves primarily to stoke the egos of the targets for its criticism, albeit unintentionally. The justification for this criticism is that the effort required to criticize and design the work required a non-trivial expenditure of effort and time towards the end of addressing these websites. This means that Zer0 paid attention to the objects of his criticism and art in a manner which they can point to as a badge of honour. The appendix to Acts of Gord fans suggests one of the two already has done so (if not both) .
I would personally speculate that the work in question is primarily art and Zer0 was driven to follow his muse wherever she led. Others would likely hypothesize that Zer0 is a deranged loser fanboy reject and may cite this work of art, in which Zer0 picks on others in an involved ("obsessive") manner, as support for this hypothesis.
I theorize that those who do such speculation on this forum (or by any other means that can reach Zer0) are likely manifesting the psychological phenomenon known as 'projecting.' This is a phenomenon where the projecting individual observes someone else and projects one or more attributes they don't like about themself on that person. The purpose of projecting these attributes on the other person is to be able to criticize that behaviour and maintain a hypocritical view of the unacceptability of these attributes in order to aid their suppression of understanding that they have these same attributes. I support this hypothesis with the observation that for no good reason they chose to respond to Zer0 and criticize him for criticizing others in a way which was stylish, fairly well written and attractive.
If your imagination is good enough you could probably get high contemplating the recursions and secondary theories this hypothesis leads to. I recommend this activity as being less likely to do permanent brain damage than LSD use. Good luck and thanks for the entertainment all. I await the next Zer0 opus with as much anticipation as I do the next Future Retard or Get Your War On installment.
